Services

full retirement livery

Our Full Retirement Livery is designed for horses who benefit from the comfort, routine and security of daily stabling alongside the freedom of turnout and companionship. Each horse has its own stable or barn space — chosen to suit their temperament and preferences — and during the winter months they come in every evening to a deep, clean bed with generous haylage. Through the warmer seasons they live mostly out at grass, but are brought in during periods of heat, flies or poor weather so they can rest in comfort and avoid stress. Turnout is always with established herd friends, carefully managed to preserve harmony and companionship.

Daily care is entirely taken care of for you. Horses receive tailored hard feeds, rugs are changed as conditions require, and vitamin and mineral supplements are provided to support long-term health. Each horse is checked twice daily, with hands-on inspections of legs, feet, rugs and general wellbeing, as well as quiet observation of behaviour and mood. We keep a detailed yard daybook so that any changes — whether medical or simply a quirky habit — are noted and shared with owners and professionals. With 24/7 on-site supervision, experienced staff, and the reassurance of stable cameras, Full Livery offers the highest level of support and peace of mind for both horse and owner

Assisted retirement livery

Our Assisted Retirement Livery is ideal for horses who thrive living at grass but still need attentive, knowledgeable care and seasonal support. Horses live in small, settled herds across our extensive, varied grazing, with access to woodland edges, hedgerows and water meadows that encourage natural movement, foraging and mental stimulation. In winter and during periods of bad weather, they have free access to roomy barns and shelters with straw bedding and haylage, allowing them to choose warmth and protection whenever they wish. In summer, shade, fly relief and quiet resting areas are always available.

Although these horses live out, they are never “left to it”. Each horse is checked at least twice daily, with close attention paid to weight, movement, feet, skin and overall condition. Rugs, fly masks and treatments are applied when needed, and supplementary feed and minerals are provided to maintain healthy condition through the seasons. Herd dynamics are carefully monitored so every horse feels safe and settled, and any issues are dealt with promptly. Owners remain welcome to visit, groom and spend time with their horses, while receiving regular photo updates through our private online group. Assisted Livery gives your horse the freedom of a natural, outdoor life, backed by the reassurance of experienced, hands-on care every day of the year.

Our Ethos

Our Ethos

The horse is first and second

Our ethos

We place equal importance on not only the physical welfare needs of the horses in our care, but also the emotional and mental welfare.

  • Bespoke and individually tailored care – we take the time to get to know and understand your horse’s personality and preferences [and those special scratching places they like]

  • With over 30 years of expert horse and land management represented and we live on site (24/7) to ensure the very best care is always available.

  • We make our own hayledge each year – it might sound a small thing;  but this means we can know and trust the provenance and quality of our winter fodder…and the horses always prefer their own grass!

  • We welcome owner visits and interaction – you will receive a warm welcome and the space to spend as much time with your horse as you like.   Come and groom your horse and spend some quality time with them.

  • An owner’s social media page where we post regular pictures and updates on the horses and owners can connect and join in with posts of former glory days.

  • We always endeavour to place each horse into a family group where they can bond with a special friend/s and any disputes are swiftly resolved to maintain peace and harmony in the herds.
